It's 1923 and Martha Platt's wedding plans are falling to pieces as friends and neighbours, including fiance Ted Aspinall, can talk of nothing but the Wanderers' shot at glory, whilst Ted's brother, Jim, dreams of revolution on the street of Bolton.
